Helios Emil von Behring

The Helios Hospital Emil von Behring, an academic teaching hospital of the Charité, is a hospital for qualified expert care in the south-west of Berlin. The Helios Hospital Emil von Behring was created in 2000 when the Heckeshorn Lung Clinic, Oskar-Helene-Heim, and Behring Hospital merged. These three clinics were well-known throughout Germany. They were the Heckeshorn Lung Clinic, Oskar-Helene-Heim, and Behring Hospital.

The foundation hospital Oskar-Helene-Heim is one of the oldest hospitals in Berlin. It was started in 1905 by a married couple named Oskar and Helene Pintsch as a place for disabled teens to get better. Over time, it grew into a university clinic for orthopedics and trauma surgery that is known all over Germany. It is now a modern center for Joint medicine and spinal surgery. The Heckeshorn Lung Clinic opened in 1947 as a place to treat people with TB. The Clinic for Pneumology is one of the many specialized units at the Helios Hospital Emil von Behring. It has been there since 2004. It is one of the best lung centers in Germany. Patients with lung cancer, breathing problems while sleeping, infectious diseases of the respiratory organs, and tuberculosis can get high-quality medical care there.
