In 2019, the HM Hospitales Group and the Fundació Hospital de Nens de Barcelona reached a deal for the Barcelona children’s hospital to become part of the Hospital Group in Catalonia.

Both HM Hospitales and the Fundació Hospital de Nens de Barcelona have a philosophy that is based on the highest quality of care, teaching, health education, and research. They also share values like comprehensive care, which goes beyond the disease and meets all of the needs of the patient and his family, and personalized treatment, since each case is different and must be treated with respect, kindness, and courtesy.

The famous children’s hospital in Barcelona and Catalonia will now be called Hospital HM Nens. Its social work will be known as the HM Obra Social Nens Foundation.

Between 1886 and 1890, the Company of the Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul worked to create what was originally called the Hospital de Nios Pobres de Barcelona. It was one of the first places to provide care, teach, and do study in the field of pediatrics. It has all medical and surgical fields, including outpatient and surgical services, 24-hour emergency care, and one of the best orthodontics and dentistry services in Europe.
